Questioning the concept of Trinity

In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful…

I have thought about this Christianity concept of god since I was in school. I was wondering how can it make sense to have 3 Gods but actually they are 1 God. 3 in1 and 1 in 3. This is the most basic belief in Christianity and every Christian should try to reason the logical aspect of it. Failing to believe in this but to believe in 1 God will make a Christian almost a Muslim. The rest of the part is to believe in Muhammad saw as the final messenger of Allah swt. Hence before going into any other aspect of the Christian fundamental beliefs, anyone who is trying to search the truth must seriously think and reason this important concept.

Now, to talk about this topic I must talk from credible referrals or from someone who really understands Christianity. Who is better to tell about it other than a high ranking priest?

I am right now looking at a book titled “Muhammad in the Bible” written by Prof. ‘Abdul Ahad Dawud, most probably in the early 20th century. Who is this man? Well, before his convertion to Islam in 1904 in Constantinople, he was known as Reverend David Benjamin Keldani, a Roman Catholic priest of Uniate-Chaldean sect. Born in 1867 in Urmia, Persia, he was a former Bishop at Urmia.  He put a lot of work and effort to propagate Christianity especially in Urmia. He was well verse in several languages including Greek, Hebrew, French and the ancient language of Aramaic. What I discuss in this posting will be entirely from his book.

Back to the main point, many know the auspicatory formula in Christianity: ” In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost.” Suprisingly this formula does not even mention the word God! This formula is like the formula of Bismillahirrahmanirrahim of Quran in Islam but with a total contrast compared to the Christian formula. The Quranic formula means: ” In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, The Most Merciful”.

Let’s get to the bottom of this. Christianity gives different distinct personal properties to each person and make use of family names similar to those in paganism. Allah is not a father to a son. He has no mother or father. The belief in Trinity is a flagrant denial of the Oneness of God, a confession in three imperfect beings that unitedly or separately, cannot be the true God.

Prof. ‘Abdul reason this mystery with a simple mathematical logic. Mathematics as a positive science taught us that every number is from the unit one. 5 units for example, is the summation of 5 of 1 units. But Christianity taught Christians that 1 + 1 + 1 = 1! Christians admit that each person of the trinity is as perfect as the other two, so the fact that 1 + 1 + 1 = 1 is a total absurdity! You’re either too arrogant when you try to prove that 3 units equal to one ; or too cowardly to admit that three ones equal to three ones! In the former you are trying to get a wrong answer with a wrong solution and in the latter you do not have the courage to confess your belief in 3 gods.

Then Christians are told that each person of the trinity have some kind of different ranks. The father is always superior than the son and the holy ghost is always the third in rank. If they coexist or coeval, why is the need of rank? If they are coeval, there is no need for such important order. If they coexist, then the holy ghost or the son can be place in front of the father. But the question is, if they coexist, why is the need of three? It is really mind boggling.

It is obvious that Christianity is in great denial. Prophet Muhammad saw did not bring a new religion to the world. But it is rather a completion of what Jesus, Moses, Abraham and other prophets who appear in the Bible were delivering. Jesus when asked which is the first commandment of all said in Mark 12:29, ” And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord. ” Moses, speaking to the Israelites after he met God at Mount Sinai told his people that, ” Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” This can be found here in Exodus 20:3.

Muhammad(pbuh) then delivered nothing new. When asked what is his concept of God by a Christian deputation, Allah swt sent a revelation to him by Surah Al Ikhlas (112:1-4), telling him what to say, ” Say: He is Allah the One and Only; Allah, the Eternal, Absolute; He begetteth, not nor is He begotten; And there is none like unto Him.” Those who said that Muhammad brought a new religion are clearly not reading the bible, has been blindly corrupted by the paganism in Christianity and or in state of denial. Where in the bible that Jesus(pbuh) said “I am God. Worship me” ?

Most of Christians do not read their bible thoroughly and they only read a few verses which were chanted on Sundays in their churches. It is the job of Muslims to tell them the truth, reason with logic and enlighten the non-muslims and leave the rest to Allah swt. Sad to tell, a lot of Muslims just don’t seem to care. The late Sheikh Ahmed Deedat once said, we are given by Allah swt the opportunity to do the work of the prophet.

This posting does not meant to ridicule Christians, but to ask them to reason and think clearly about their faith. Finally, I leave readers with the video of Brother Joshua Evans, a former Christian minister from California who converted to Islam after reading the bible cover to cover. Be sure to watch until the 8th part. Jazakallah khair.
